GRAACE’s 5 Favourite Popstars RN Are These Ones

Wine Machine’s on this weekend and for the next few! All the details are below and tickets are here. Alongside very good acts like Confidence Man, The Presets & Hot Dub – good pop thing GRAACE will be performing! She made me cry at a gig last year. That never happens, as I have no emotions! Below, she’s listed the five stars that make her excited about pop music right now.

JoJo – Marvin’s Room (Can’t Do Better)

The original is OBVIOUSLY amazing. But something about this cover is so nostalgic to me. I remember looking up to so many women in the music industry as a young girl thinking I could never be that badass. But this rendition of Drake’s song made me feel so STRONG and POWERFUL. Still takes me back to that feeling overtime I listen and reminds me to never lose that feeling.

6lack – East Love Letter

I’m obsessed with anything 6lack makes but this song in particular hits me in so many feels. The production is SO crazy and before he even starts singing get you in this headspace, not many artists can pull that off. In conclusion, 6lack is pretty much just a music god.

ROSALÍA – MALAMENTE (Cap.1: Augurio)

Not only are the songs seriously next level, the music videos are just the icing on the cake. Rosalia has the ability to tell a whole novel in such a short amount of time because of how emotive the production, writing, singing and videos portray everything. I can’t understand more than like 2 words she’s singing but I don’t need to, she’s a goddess.

Clairo – Flamin Hot Cheetos

So obsessed with Clairo and how laid back she is. Her making music in her room just because she’s in the mood and not for anyone else. It inspires me everyday to not worry to much about pleasing everyone else and if you enjoy what you’re making It will naturally resonate because its authentic.

CYN – I’ll still have me

THIS SONG! I’ve cried countless times to this. This is the definition of pure emotion and feeling in music and it’s exactly what I aspire to be constantly writing and producing. I love fun songs don’t get me wrong but there’s something about honest and deep music over that doesn’t just skim the surface and means more in the long run through the ‘no-BS’ message it sends.
