SHY Martin’s ‘Forget to Forget’ is a pristine pop moment

Sweden’s SHY Martin has put out one hell of a single this week. You may have seen her pop up in the writing credits of various tunes before as Sara Hjellström; she’s been involved with hits like The Chainsmokers’ All We Know and Mike Perry’s The Ocean, as well as Astrid S’ iconic Bloodstream. Having already knocked it out of the park with her own single Bad in Common earlier this year, SHY Martin’s latest tune is another textbook example of expert pop writing.

Forget to Forget features a guitar line that is instantly reminiscent of Dua Lipa’s IDGAF, and a grooving chorus with a thrumming bass and sharply gated vocal that adds an overall crispness to the production. All of the lines rhyme and match up perfectly, and the whole thing is just an excellent display of Scandinavian pop music perfection. SHY Martin’s releases seem to be only getting better, and this upcoming EP is likely to be incredible.
