WE TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS, THEN IT'S HANDLED

Playlist Preview: Liam Payne, Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez & more have songs out Friday

To prepare your nervous system for each New Music Friday I’m gonna try and do a Playlist Preview each week of the ‘big ticket items’ to get ready for.

Camila Cabello – ‘Crying In The Club’

The shady former Fifth Harmony member’s debut single finally comes out on Friday. It’s called Crying In The Club and it has the most atrocious cover art of all time.

No one’s quite sure who’s on production / co-write for this but her sessions have included Diplo, Cashmere Cat and Ryan Tedder – who says he was “intimidated” by how good she is in the studio. So this could potentially be really incredible. We’ll see on Friday.

Liam Payne ft. Quavo – Strip That Down

Payno popped up having a spin around with his shirt off the other week and now we know that Friday we’ll hear his first ever single Strip That DownQuavo, the most relevant one from the Migos, does a rap bit on it.

Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac started it, and got Payno in after he went to the gym to have a listen – and they finished it off in half an hour. Amazing. 2017 pop music epitomised.

It sounds from the previews like a Jason Derulo moment. A good one, at least. Swalla teas.

Also. The font for the artwork is excellent.

Selena Gomez – Bad Liar

This one’ll be out Thursday to avoid the clutter. Selena’s new single is a co-write with her trusted mates Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, as well as Ian Kirkpatrick who’s responsible for a few quirky, weird semi-hits like Levels by Nick Jonas.

There’s a four second bassline audible on Selena’s Twitter.

That’s the big singles. Album-wise there’s some Australian stuff coming out from Jessica Says and Baro. And I’m sure there’ll be a surprise or two.
