“I ain’t got no money, I ain’t got no power, can’t find the floor and this beats getting louder.”
That’s what Tove Styrke tells you over one of the year’s best pop bridges, in Aftergold, originally an instrumental song by California-based producer Big Wild.
The vocals really bring out the best in a song that was already prepared for the 8pm slot at some of the world’s biggest stages, like, imagine raging to this shit with the sun juuuuuuust about set at a festival in the third row, four seconds before macking on with some cutie. Aka what I plan on doing at Groovin The Moo to the sounds of ODESZA, whose Foreign Family Collective Aftergold is actually being released through.
Big Wild’s currently about to take off on a US tour which includes a stop at Coachella, so it’s literally impossible he’ll be slowing down anytime soon.
