This 16-year-old was one of this year’s Triple J Unearthed High finalists, with his psychedelic and glimmering tune End. This track is very ‘Tame Impala’, with this sort of dizziness, acid trip kind of utopian vibes. It’s made for that typical scene in cult indie films where all the teenage boys dressed in pleated pants and stripy shirts share their secret knowledge.

I met this sweet dude whilst he was working his day job in Sydney, he poured me a glass of water, and maybe this is a thankyou. His track Bubblegum is comprised of these kinds of quirky and playful pop ingredients mixed together to create the perfect dessert. It sounds like those party bags you’d get at a kids birthday party with glitter and lollies inside, and then it’s just exploded to create an eruption of innocent happiness. This track just oozes joy.

The band calling their song Avocado Galaxy I think is what really makes them World Champions here. This track has got a really catchy melody line throughout the whole three minutes that just really makes you want to sing a long. I saw them play a while ago at Mountain Sounds Festival and although they were on super early they made being out in the summer sun getting burnt well worth it.

No other lyric has affected me like this one has this week! “Everybody thinks, but I don’t think at all” from the bands tune Undone off of their debut EP. I found this band yet again on one of my Instagram lurking spree’s [sorry again]. Their whole EP really pleases me; it’s got this lovely beach rock ambience- similar to that of Ocean Alley. It’s also pretty relaxing and has this distinctively majestic feel.

The track Adore is so relatable I actually felt my heart stop. You remember that time you liked that really cool person but they wouldn’t notice you?? Even though you were trying really hard??? That whole situation is this song in a nutshell. The clip is a little strange, but I still don’t dislike it. This song all together is really emotional, something that takes real passion.
